Watched Naruto Shippuden Episode 167?

I never thought I would be so impressed with Naruto Shippuden. Lately, I watched episode 167 and in the closing stages of the episode, the father-son moment stuck me deeply.

If you know all about the Naruto Anime series, you would know that, Naruto, this male teenage protagonist never met his parents in this entire life. Adding to that, an evil power is sealed within him in order to prevent others from misusing that power. Basically, Naruto spends his entire life struggling to tame the power. However, he is always tempted to yield to that evil power in order to become powerful himself. Whenever he does so, he loses control to the forces of evil and becomes destructive himself.

What's the big deal about it?

In the closing moments, Naruto was at the point of releasing the evil within him once and for all. By doing so, he is lost forever. When all was about to be lost to evil, Naruto's dad appears in his sub-consciousness and stopped him from releasing the evil within him.

Confusing? Maybe for those who hadn't watched it before.

I was deeply touched when Naruto's dad appeared and stopped him. Naruto was at wit's end. And to put it in a christian way, he was falling. He was falling into self-destruction. And...his dad comes to his rescue.

Personally, there are many times I wished my dad was there to carry me when I crashed. Crash meaning when I fail, fall, stumble over, whatever, etc. Don't get me wrong, I love my dad and my dad has always been with me and for me since I was born. I am looking for a perfect dad though there is no perfect dad on earth. I think we all are looking for one. Like Naruto's dad. At the point of epic failure, he rescued him. I think that cartoon/anime/movies sometimes speak the language of our hearts.

Here's the meat:

I am thankful that in life there is God the Father. All our earthly father models after him. Some fathers fail and some barely make the mark. But I know my Father in heaven loves us. He loves me and understands me perfectly. He is like Naruto's dad, who catches us when we are falling at the most critical moment. God is the perfect Father whom we all having been desiring. He catches me when I am falling, when I am weakest and struggling through life. He even sent his own Son to pay the penalty of men's sin so that we may be saved from it. How deep exactly is the Father's love for us? For me?

Now I wonder, what kind of dad would I ever be?
If I ever had the chance to become a dad myself, I wish to be like Him.
